Welcome to the website of Tri-Hard Endurance Sports Coaching!

Jason Gootman and Will Kirousis operate Tri-Hard Endurance Sports Coaching ("Tri-Hard" for short). We have a deep passion for endurance sports and it is our goal to bring that passion, combined with our knowledge and experience, to you! 

We are dedicated to providing world-class coaching and education services for endurance athletes including triathletes, duathletes, road cyclists, mountain bike racers, and runners. We assist endurance athletes of all ages and all ability levels from beginner to professional in working towards and reaching their personal goals. Through expert guidance and superior service, we aim to create the most constructive and enjoyable athletic experience, both physically and mentally, for each athlete or group of athletes with whom we work. 

We accomplish this goal through:

  • Coaching -- We coach endurance athletes through our personalized coaching services.

  • Speaking -- We present custom seminars for endurance sports clubs/teams and other organizations.

  • Writing -- We write articles for internationally acclaimed journals, magazines, and websites covering endurance sports topics.

Congratulations to Tri-Hard athletes Karen Potter of Shrewsbury, Mass. and Emily Brock of Columbia, S.C. Both raced to top-10 performances in the year-long National Ultra Endurance mountain-bike race series. Congratulations to Tri-Hard athlete Robin Cain of Boxford, Mass. for being named a USA Triathlon All-American in the 40-44 age group (she was ranked 9th of 1,815 athletes in her age group)!  

Congratulations to Tri-Hard athlete Mike Morgan of Sacramento, Calif. for his 10:03 finish (45-minute PR) of Ironman Arizona!  

Congratulations to Tri-Hard athlete Chris Douglass of Boston, Mass. for his 10:41 finish (23-minute PR) of Ironman Arizona!  

Congratulations to Tri-Hard athlete Mike Beebe of Chicago, Illinois for his 9th-place finish of the Montrose Harbor Cyclocross Race! 

Congratulations to Tri-Hard athlete Tricia Weston of Wellesley, Mass. for her 11:54 finish (10th-place 40-44 women) of Ironman Lake Placid and for her 5:05 finish (2nd-place 40-44 women) at the Timberman ½ Ironman!

Congratulations to Tri-Hard athlete Jim Calvin of Lexington, Mass. for his 1:15 finish (9th-place 45-49 men) of the Mount Washington Hillclimb!  

Congratulations to Tri-Hard athlete Audie Bridges of Wakefield, Mass. for his 5:09 finish (11th-place 60-64 men) of the ½ Ironman World Championships in Clearwater, Florida! 

Congratulations to Tri-Hard athlete Brett Nichols of Brookline, Mass. for his 2:04 finish (15th-place elite age-group men) of the New York City Olympic-Distance Triathlon, for his 2:08 finish (2nd-place overall men, 1st-place 25-29 men) of the Lake Dunmore Olympic-Distance Triathlon, and for his 2:03 finish (8th-place 25-29 men) of the Chicago Olympic-Distance Triathlon!

Congratulations to Tri-Hard athlete Colin Lake of Westboro, Mass. for his 2:25 finish (1st-place overall men) of the Scraggy Neck Olympic-Distance Triathlon and for his 1:01 finish (6th-place 35-39 men) of the Fantastic Nantasket Sprint-Distance Triathlon! 

Congratulations to Tri-Hard athlete Ryan Tuttle of New Bern, N.C. for his performance at the South Carolina Omnium Road Race (1st-place pro/cat 2 in the time trial, 14th-place pro/cat 2 in the criterium, 2nd-place pro/cat 2 in the road race which yielded 1st-place overall for the Omnium)!

Congratulations to Tri-Hard athlete Nate Davis of Petersham, Mass. for his category-5 win of the Mad River Road Race!  

Congratulations to Tri-Hard athlete Brett Nichols of Brookline, Mass. for his 8:55 finish in the 800 freestyle (2nd-place, 22-second improvement over 2008 at the same meet) and 4:17 finish in the 400 freestyle (2nd-place) at the NEMLSC SCM Swimming Championships. Brett had a big challenge at this race with pro triathletes Ethan Brown and Jarrod Shoemaker in his flanking lanes.  Brett stuck to his guns, raced his race plan, and managed to narrowly miss Ethan, finishing second in both races, but also managed to come in ahead of Jarrod.

Congratulations to Tri-Hard athlete Jim Lewis of Carlisle, Mass. for his 12:29 finish (40-minute PR) of Ironman Lake Placid! 


Congratulations to Tri-Hard athlete Gered Dunne of White River Junction, Vt. for his 2:11 finish (6th-place overall men, 2nd-place 25-29 men) of the Lake Dunmore Olympic-Distance Triathlon and for his 1:18 finish (1st-place overall men) of the Kingdom Trails Sprint-Distance Triathlon! 

Congratulations to Tri-Hard athlete Terry Apruzzese of Wilmingtonn, Mass. for her 1:38 finish of the Timberman Sprint-Distance Triathlon, for her 2:55 finish (seven-minute PR) of the Cranberry Olympic-Distance Triathlon, and for her 1:32 finish (seven-minute PR) of the Pumpkinman ½ Ironman! 

Congratulations to Tri-Hard athlete Ed Berk of Boxford. Mass. for his 2:33 finish (10th-place 55-59 men, 10-minute PR) of the New York City Olympic-Distance Triathlon and for his 1:20 finish (2nd-place 55-59 men) of the Gloucester Sprint-Distance Triathlon!
