Here's what some of our athletes are saying in regards to their experience
with us:
Hey Jason,
What a great race! The
swim was cancelled because of raging waters. The bike course was
incredible. Very, very hilly, tough, technical course. Narrow roads and
tons of turns. It was tough but I felt so strong. I was passing people
the entire time. People were walking their bikes up many hills and on
one particular hill at mile 44, literally a mile long and very steep,
not one person was on the bike (and there were at least 50 people there
at the time), EXCEPT FOR ME, all the way to the top. I was just passing
everyone and people were commenting, “Wow, good for you!” I said well
good for my coach and all those hill repeats in my training! Thank you,
Jason! It was so motivating. Men and women half my age and I was just
nailing it! The run was equally as hard. OMG, the hills were tough.
Again I just kept passing people, felt very strong and kept a solid
pace. So overall it was a great race. I want to do it next year with the
swim! I am dying to swim in the Delaware, it seems scary, and that's
probably the draw, so hopefully next year the weather cooperates.
Thanks again for all
your help,
Barb

Hey Will,
For me, the hardest part of training for triathlons
has been doing it alone. First of all, I really didn't know jack about
what good training looked like, but going it alone I was also always
second-guessing my training and my progress (or lack thereof). Your
coaching has instilled so much confidence in me. I rest easy (because
you tell me to rest) knowing how much you and Jason know about how to
improve my triathlon game. From workouts, to nutrition, to the recovery
process as a whole, you have been a great partner in pursuit of becoming
a professional athlete and I am 100-percent confident that you'll be
equally as helpful and supportive as I pursue excellence on the
international stage.
Thank you!

Jason,
Great day at Pumpkinman
for me yesterday—a 50-minute PR for me at this distance [half-iron
distance]. Clearly I was better trained for yesterday than when I
trained myself for Timberman in 2008. Thanks!

Jason,
The race on Sunday went really well [her first
Olympic-distance triathlon]. The water was rough, but felt good doing
it. On the bike, I averaged about 18.3 miles per hour and also felt
really good. On the run, I totally surprised myself; I felt really good
and paced myself well. All I can say is I had a great big smile on my
face when I finished the race. I had so much fun. I will have to give
all the credit to you--my training really paid off!

Will,
Goals set
and accomplished with your guidance:
1. Qualify
for Hawaii once again. Check.
2. Do a
sub-10-hour Ironman (Brazil 2007). Check.
3. Set a
marathon PR (2:42). Check.
4. Run a
decent 100-miler (21:36). Check.
One hell of
a run Will—thanks for all your expertise, support, and “counseling”.

Hey Jason,
I finished in 12:53 [at Ironman
Lake Placid; his first iron-distance triathlon]—overall a very successful day! I wanted to say
thanks—I couldn’t have done it without you. I’ll catch up with you
in the next few days when I get home and we can talk more then. Thanks
again. I appreciate everything you do for me.

Hi Jason and Will,
Just a quick note to let you guys know that I learned a lot at Saturday's
Tri-Hard strength clinic. I am a five-time Ironman finisher and have run
many marathons...and after one Tri-Hard strength clinic, my legs and
glutes were toast! It is
actually quite funny, I just didn't imagine that some of the exercises could
prove to be so demanding on my body. Thank
you for opening my eyes...I thought I was "in-shape", maybe had
a little "winter weight", but as it turned out, I wasn't
even close. I cannot wait to get some of these exercises into my
strength-training workouts for my 2010 training year.

Jason,
Just wanted to let you know I crushed the Ironman
[Ironman Coeur d’Alene]. It was awesome. I finished in 11:59:59! One
second under 12 hours and I had to really fight the last lap to make it.
Based on my watch, my second lap was seven minutes faster than my first.
I used going under 12 hours as a motivation tool.
This was easily my best race ever—of any triathlon at any distance. I
nailed my pacing, nailed my nutrition, and had a blast. I had NOTHING
left at the end. I could hardly walk. Coeur d'Alene is easily one of the
prettiest triathlons I have done. The views and scenery are great. I
don't think I have ever had so much fun racing (minus the last four
miles that were a total suffer-fest, but still great because I pushed
myself to my limit).
Thanks for all the help! It made my day great!
Talk soon,
Mike

Hi Jason,
It’s awesome to feel good during a race at the end
of the season. I really feel like this season was really solid and
amazingly consistent and I also feel like I can continue to get
faster.
Thanks! I’m
looking forward to next weekend to finish the season strong.

Jason,
I had an awesome—If not perfect—day yesterday.
Easily one of my best races. It's awesome to meet my goals that I’ve set
for myself (and beating them significantly) and have all the hard work pay
off.
I can officially say this year has been a success...and I still have
more races to go to make it even better.

Jason,
Saying thank you to you for all your help, advice, and counsel during the
past months significantly understates how grateful I am to you. Without
your coaching while I was overcoming my injury, there is no way I would be
about to be on the starting line [of the Boston Marathon] as fit and
pain-free as I am. In many ways this marathon means the most to me having
worked so hard to get there. I can't wait!

Jason,
Holy cow, I placed third
in my age group [35-39 women] today! I felt pretty strong the whole race
and even finished strong, but never expected to place. It was a tough
course and big field.
It may sound funny, but
that 3rd place age-group finish means so much to me, especially after the
rough winter I had. Thanks for helping me to get here.

Will,
I did that same course [in his cycling
time-trial test] seven years ago in just over 32 minutes. What a big difference this year—three minutes faster! Not
bad for a 67-year-old. The better training, thanks to your coaching, has
really made a difference. I am really grateful that even
though I am seven years older, I can still improve.

I can't thank you enough for all you've done for me
over the years-- not just the physical training, but the mental
preparations, general advice, and more than anything—the friendship. The
sporting events I've done in the last few years were more than just
races—they were life experiences that led me to travel around the world,
meet even more friends, and grow as a person. There's no way I could have
accomplished my goals or grown into the person I am without you, and for
that I'm deeply thankful.

Jason,
Thank you so much for an awesome race season! Ironman
Coeur d’Alene was a phenomenal success for me and a lot of fun which is
why I do this after all. Although my motivation the rest of the
season lagged a bit, the original fitness I had shined through in my past
two races. I had two PRs in two weeks! Who know, this weekend
[Lobsterman Triathlon] might be the same. Even if it isn't, the
Whoopie Pies and Shipyard Beer afterwards will more than make up for
it.

Thank
you for all your help and encouragement along the way in my training [for
Ironman Coeur d’Alene]. I learned a lot about myself and the sport. It
was a great experience to have a personal coach to put things together. I
don't think I have had such a successful and injury-free training period
since I started in triathlon. I know Terry [Brian’s fiancé Terry
Apruzzese who Jason also coached] also has benefitted a ton from your
assistance. It would have been very difficult for her to get to this point
without an expert like yourself to guide her along.
Thanks again! I'll chat with you after the

Hi Jason and Will,
Thanks for putting on the strength clinic yesterday. My daughter and
I got a lot out of the exercises. We have been trying to stay off the
machines at the gym and these exercises that you showed us will give us a
lot to work with. Having the chance to be shown how to do these exercises
correctly is going to be invaluable. I couldn't believe how fast the time
went by. The way you had it organized into a quick presentation then live
demo of the exercises then breaking us up into small groups and so we
could try each exercise with supervision was great.
Thanks again,

Jason,
It's been great working with you these past two
years. In the end, I accomplished my short-term goal of shedding some
pounds and getting back into triathlon shape after a three-year hiatus and
I accomplished my long-term goal to have a strong race at the 2008 Ironman
Lake Placid.
With meticulous attention to detail, you
developed my training plans with these goals in mind. I
appreciated the frequent contact where we touched base by phone and email
at least once a week, every week. The training plans you created for
me were tailor-made to fit my busy and often erratic work schedule. I
appreciated how you made adjustments for my somewhat frequent
out-of-town travel. Your ability to adjust and re-adjust my schedule was
so important in my success in re-building my base and preparing me for
racing. In 2007 I competed in a number of triathlons and running
races and my performance and standings improved consistently throughout
the year. I placed in the top three in my age group at many of the races I
entered.
Your plan for 2008, which included significant
increase in volume in the spring, put me in the best shape of my life! And
in July, at the age of 50, I achieved a personal best at Ironman Lake
Placid, placing 19th in my age group with a time of 11:22, 28 minutes
faster than my 2004 Ironman Lake Placid performance.
My success in that race, and my overall physical fitness,
is due in large part to you. You bring new meaning to the word
personal, in personal coach.
Thanks,

As an endurance-sports coach, I have attended several triathlon

learned several good drills and exercises that I can use with my athletes.

just focusing on execution. The training in the past weeks really

I really enjoyed your race-strategy talk. I've

Jason,
I just wanted to say thanks again for all the help,
especially the last-minute advice that helped me lose some of the
butterflies. Race day went as planned and could not have been better. The
heat was what they predicted at 95 degrees but there were also 20 MPH
winds, so it was a tough-day conditions-wise. Conditions aside I
feel that I had the best race I have ever had and a sound race-nutrition
plan. Thanks for your help developing it.
Even with the heat and wind, things went well. The
people that passed me early in the run were on the side of the road
exhausted or barely walking and I ended up passing them, just like you
said I would. My energy levels were great and my stomach was
fine. The liquids-based plan you helped me with worked well. I
had no urge to eat, but I did switch to half a banana
and water at about mile 22 because the sight of the sports drink was
making me sick, just like you said it might.
I am looking forward to working with you in the
future to better my times. Thanks again for helping me achieve my goal.

Hi Jason,
I want to thank you again for all of your wisdom this last year in coaching me
for Ironman Florida. I still can’t believe how well I felt which is just a tribute to how
well-prepared I was for the race. I have never been as nervous as I was
the two days prior to the race (not even for my wedding!). But when
I got in the water to start the swim I felt like I was in the place I needed
to be. I felt totally calm and in my element. I will never forget
the peaceful feeling that I had. That day definitely ranked as one of
(if not the) best days of my life! So thanks for making
it not only a memorable but enjoyable day too!

Hey Jason,
Our bikes are on their way to Ironman Florida.
We fly out tomorrow night. I don't know what internet access we'll have in Florida, so I wanted to thank you now. This whole arrangement has been great. I
was just taking with Brian, and by my count I have done 316 workouts since
January 1st. There were probably five that I really didn't enjoy.
That's a pretty good ratio! I don't know whether I could have got myself
into this kind of shape without you. If I could have, I'm sure I would have
injured myself or gotten really sick. Looking back, I wish I had asked
you more questions because I always found your insights very helpful. I'll
definitely check in with you afterwards.
Thanks again,

Good morning, Jason,
I wanted to share a story with you. I was at a business lunch
yesterday and still high from my Vineman race, the conversation was all
about training and racing and what I do and how I get it done. I
mentioned to the broker that I pay a coach. He asked me why would I
pay a coach who is on-line and not a coach who would work out with me.
I thought about it for a quick second and responded by grabbing a napkin
and I wrote on it:
Prior to Hiring Jason
Marathon PR: 3:10
1/2 Marathon PR: 1:27
Olympic-Distance Triathlon PR: 2:40
No 1/2 Ironmans
No Ironmans
Three Years Since Hiring Jason
Marathon PR: 2:58
1/2 Marathon PR: 1:22
Olympic-Distance Triathlon PR: 2:10
1/2 Ironman PR: 4:46 down from 6:46 with five completed successfully
Ironman PR: 10:48 down from 12:05 with three completed successfully
My broker looked at me and said, "Okay, I get it."
Jason, we started working together almost three years ago. "Happy Anniversary"!
I have made some HUGE gains in my training and racing! It has
not been the easiest road to travel, but you have stuck with me to keep
the momentum going and giving me the best encouragement when I was down
and out. So I'd like to say THANKS for three great years and I look
forward to more. The list of things we are going to accomplish is
long but we will get it done.

Hello Jason and Will,
WOW, what a difference a year makes with some great coaching and hard
work! I sat down last night and took a look at some of things I
accomplished since you guys took me on as an athlete. I have had personal
bests in almost every race I entered. Wildflower was so amazing this
year and to take 48 minutes off last years time was the best. I know
that none of this would have been possible without your great coaching,
support, and friendship. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate you
as coaches and mentors. I know I can be a little difficult and off
the wall at times; it just amazes me how you are able to bring me back to earth
and provide the guidance I need. It's a perfect match for me and I am
so lucky to have found you. The best news of all is that we are not
done yet; I continue to learn and grow under with your guidance and
coaching. I feel there is nothing I can't do with your coaching and
dedication to my success in whatever race I/we choose to tackle. I am
so looking forward to more racing, training, learning, and gaining
confidence in myself.
Thanks so much for what you have given me and helped me to
accomplish. I only hope that you realize how important this is
to me to have come so far and that NONE of it would have been possible
without you to guide me.
THANKS AGAIN!

Hello
Jason,
I cannot find the words to let you know how happy I am with your
coaching. This weekend really showed me that I am coming along. I feel
real good about the progress I am making. I am getting in better shape
and the new training structure is allowing me to run better and feel stronger. Last
week, on my one-hour run I felt so good it was amazing. I really worked at
keeping within the heart-rate zones you gave me and was able to accomplish
that, and I never really felt like I was pushing. I really had to hold
back the desire to bust loose. I think I tend to be more mental than
physical when I run. When I think about pace or time I get tight and loose
control of my heart rate. However, now that I am using the monitor I do
not think about pace (just the zones I need to be working in) and it just
becomes a good easy run and it is just as fast. The swimming too has
really come along so far. For the first time I am confident that I
can break three hours in the marathon and get more competitive in my
age group and overall for 2007 triathlon season. I think I am far ahead
of my goal and feel like I can rock three hours with two-and-a-half months
left to train. Jason, I have been training for years and years and have never
felt this strong or confident in my training. I am grateful I found you to
coach me and I feel so good about where we are going.
I am feeling really good and wanted to share that with you.
Thanks,
Mike

Hi Jason,
After 12 years of coaching myself I hired you
in June 2003. You created
a personalized 12-week training
plan to help me finish my
preparation for my race at the Ironman World Championships in
Hawaii. This was my fifth Ironman and I
had my best performance at an Ironman!
The workouts you created for
me were very focused and specific to my Ironman training and
free of the "junk" workouts I had the tendency to do
on my own. I believe that by
cutting out the junk, reducing the
overall quantity of working
out I was doing, and increasing the quality substantially, adding very
Ironman-specific workouts,
and improving how I was resting, I was able to have my best Ironman race ever.
In 2004 I decided I wanted to get faster at the sprint-
and Olympic-distance
triathlons. Using your ongoing-coaching
services, you guided me with specific strength/power
workouts I would never attempted to
do on my own. It took me a month
or so to get used to going form long and steady to short and
intense in some of my workouts, but
once I got the hang of your POE approach
to intervals, the "endorphin high" from my
higher quality workouts was great and more efficient then riding 3-6 hours all
the time. I also found I had much more
energy and I was much more productive with my
everyday activities. I won my
first race of the season, and went on
to win seven more under your guidance! It was an excellent year for
me, to say the least!
In 2005 while I continued training for sprint- and Olympic-distance triathlons, I
still had a stellar 1/2 Ironman performance
at the Boulder 5430 1/2
Ironman in August and continued my winning steak at the Age
Group World Championships in
October where I won my 30-34 age group. I
become a world champion! I was also 6th at the Best of the US Amateur
Triathlete Competition! I was psyched to be racing well in these big races!
With my new speed I decided to add a few more
1/2 Ironmans back into my race
schedule for 2006 and continued to train with many short and intense, quality workouts
instead of the typical endless diet of
long, slow miles most 1/2
Ironman racers tend to
accumulate. The results speak
for themselves. I set the Boulder
5430 Sprint-Distance
Triathlon course record in June
and won the Pelican Fest Sprint-Distance Triathlon. I also won my 30-34
age-group at the Boulder 5430
1/2
Ironman (going 10 minutes
faster than I
did in 2005) and came in 2nd place at the Vineman 1/2 Ironman! With
your coaching, I feel fully prepared to race well at all triathlon
distances!
I wanted to write and say thanks for
making me a champion. I'm eager to keep
getting better and see what I can do going forward.

Hey
Will,
I just wanted to drop you a note to thank you for all you've done in preparing
me for the 2006 tri season. Your training plans enabled me to place in the top
10 in my age group in six of the eight races I did this season. I never
would have thought this would be a possibility especially since this was only my
second year competing in the sport. I'm anxiously looking forward to the
beating you put on me over the next 10 months as we prepare for Ironman
USA Lake Placid!

this has been the best training year ever for me! I am very healthy and I am
very optimistic about my race [Ironman Florida]. THANK YOU for just always being there.

Jason,
I just want you to know how much I am enjoying the coaching. I LOVE not having to be responsible for thinking up workouts, but just getting them done. I also really like the way you respond so quickly to my questions and then follow up the answer with an email. In my business, I try to go the extra mile with my clients and I know how important it is to be totally focused on the client's needs (and how hard it is to
execute)--you do both VERY WELL. I am very very pleased.

Will,
Words
don’t do justice in expressing the appreciation and gratitude for all the
transitions I’ve gone through while working with you. I have changed for the
better physically, mentally, and emotionally. You
and Jason should describe yourselves not merely as athletic coaches, but as life
coaches! You truly coach at a holistic level, and that has made such a positive
difference in my life.
One
of the odd goals I came to you with was that of stopping racing, but not without
making a run for my Pro mountain bike race license first. I started racing in
1995 and had let my life become very unbalanced in my intense focus on racing
over the years. I had given up other sports I loved and the people I loved along
the way, and knew I was doing something all wrong. When I had both of my knees
operated on in early 2004, I knew I needed a more formal and structured approach
to my training to help ensure a proper recovery and avoid getting injured again. I
was lucky enough to have met Jason and to start working with you at the end of
that year.
In
March of 2005 I went out to
Arizona
to compete in a NORBA National hoping that my best efforts would land me that
Pro upgrade. I followed your training plans to the letter in the months leading
up to the event. I did everything I was supposed to do, and never before did I
feel so strong and ready for a race, both physically and mentally. Day one’s
fourth place finish was obliterated late that night when I came down with one of
the most severe and long lasting illnesses I’ve ever experienced. I could
hardly breathe, never mind race. I knew there would be no day two or three
races for me. I felt crushed and disappointed, but somehow acceptance came
easier for me than in the past. It was because of the training and preparation
work I had done with you that I was able to handle the letdown and
disappointment and accept the situation for what it was in far better form than
I ever would have before I began working with you. I took many valuable lessons
away from that trip, maybe more than if I had been able to finish the races. I
considered that experience one of my sweetest victories.
So
although I am now taking the rest of 2006 off from racing to work on regaining
that life/health balance, your coaching, advice, lessons, and guidance stay with
me in everything that I do. You are that teacher who has left a life-long
positive impact on me. Whether I’m leading a hard pitch at the gunks and need
my full mental focus, powering up hills on my road bike, doing my physical
therapy routine to keep the knees in line, or chilling out with friends and
snacking on “nutrient-dense foods”, the ability to focus and balance and
truly live the best quality life that I can, has been made possible through your
guidance.
Will,
you and Jason have been two of the most positive, life-changing people I've ever
had the honor and privilege to know and work with.
I’ll see you at my next transition!

Jason & Will,
I had a great season in 2004! I
placed in the top-25 at Ironman USA Lake Placid and I raced a 10:05 at Ironman
Hawaii. I felt like I’d used up all my strategies for developing better
performances, and needed new insight on training and racing. My consultation
with you in the off-season set me up for my best season yet. You taught me to
simplify my approach to intense training and get more rest. By following your
advice, my body has been stronger and healthier and I’ve been able to race and
train at a higher level. As a result, I won four of eight races leading up to
Triathlon Long Course World Championships, where I placed seventh overall and
was the first American finisher. Many thanks for your wisdom and support!

Jason,
I so appreciate you and Will! You are both awesome
coaches! I want you to know that you have been a big part of my life these last
couple years and I have learned so much about life and about myself, in addition
to training for triathlons! It's been a privilege to be apart of such an
outstanding organization. One of these days soon, I hope I can visit the
Boston area and finally meet you in person.
Thanks!

Dear Jason and Will,
I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate the professionalism with which
you run your coaching business. Your response time to answering my questions is awesome and even though
you have some great tools to create training plans, my training plans are even
more personalized than I had imagined they would be!
Today my wife commented on how fit I look. It's a great feeling when someone
close to you who sees you every day notices positive changes in your fitness.
Usually it's my "winter pouch" that she notices.
We've only just begun working together and I feel very good about the
relationship we've started. I am eagerly looking forward to the racing season
with you!
Sincerely,

Jason,
Thank you for all your help this year with the Custom Training Plans. You took a
lot of the guesswork out of it for me. I really like not having to dream up
workouts and and I really like just doing what I’m told and following my plan.
And it really paid off! I can’t believe I was that well-prepared and relaxed
at Ironman Florida
and did so well and got my PR!
Thanks,
Karen

Hi Jason!
Well, the year certainly went
by fast. It was last July, but it feels like yesterday that I hired you to help
me with my training between ½ Ironman races. It was my gauge to see if we connected as
athlete and coach. I had an awesome Timberman ½ Ironman taking 17 minutes off
my previous years time! Right then, I knew you were the guy I trusted to train
me for Ironman USA Lake Placid!
All through the winter we
worked very hard on my swim skills and pedaling skills (big priorities for me)
to improve my overall efficiency. When spring broke threw, it was time to hit
the hills and prepare very specifically for Ironman USA Lake Placid. We
also worked on the mental skills training and sports nutrition aspects of
preparation for Ironman big time!
We left no stone unturned! Never in my life have I felt so race ready and
prepared for something as I did for Ironman USA Lake Placid and I want to thank
you for that first! You helped me feel SO ready!
To top it off, my race was
awesome! I finished in 12:50, FAR surpassing my greatest goals for the race!
Most of all I felt great throughout my race and was able to finish with a big
smile on my face!
I really have to give a lot of
the credit for my success at Ironman USA Lake Placid to my family for their
support! And to you, Jason, for your expert advise! I don’t know how people do
a race of that length without guidance! Because of your coaching I was totally
prepared and I had a Race Plan and Race Nutrition Plan to stick with, which I had thoroughly practiced,
making for an enjoyable day all around!
Thanks Jason!

Thank
you, thank you, thank you for helping me prepare for Ironman USA Lake Placid! Thank you for the
organized guidance, thank you for the sound advice, and thank you for providing

state of experimentation and change.
Thanks!

Jason,
Ironman
Lake Placid was AWESOME! I felt REALLY strong during the whole race! I'm most proud of
my swim! I really trained diligently for a 1:20 and I got 1:21, so that was great.
It
poured rain all day and we had big-time wind on the bike, but I was so strong! I
ran most of the marathon! I couldn't believe it! I felt so strong and handled
the tough conditions well. I was very well-prepared!
THANK
YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for all your help. I used all my physical training, mental
training, race plan, and race-nutrition plan that you helped me develop and practice. It all paid off! I never once hit a wall!
My race nutrition was right on! Crossing the finish line was awesome! It was
packed!
Thanks
so much! I could not have done it without you!

Hi
Boyz,
Is
it okay that I refer to you as "my BOYZ"? I swear it is a term of much
affection and endearment, so please say YES! So,
yesterday I ran in the Jones Town & Country 10-Mile Run in Amherst. As you
know, it is a hilly and very challenging course. There is a big hill at mile 3, then
you run on a dirt part (which is sometimes icy, like yesterday!) and then the
end is pretty much up hill the last mile or so. Additionally,
the weather can be kinda yucky. The
first time I ever ran it, I HATED it. It was sleeting, I didn't do well, I ended
up getting hurt, blah, blah, blah! But
this year I worked really hard to focus on the positive as I was preparing for
the race as you guys have helped me to do. And...it worked! I had so much fun! To start off, I saw some great
people & friends from the area who were also running! And I kept reminding
myself how much I was enjoying running in Amherst, a place very dear to my
heart. Even though at times it was hard and raining and slow-going during the
icy dirt road spots, it was more time to enjoy the beautiful landscape. If a
negative thought would try to enter my head, I worked to replace it with a
positive thought and self-encouragement. On
the climbs, I focused on my turnover, picturing in my head what I wanted it to
look like and it really helped. On the descents, I tried to make up for lost
time getting the benefits of gravity! And all in all it was really great! So
thank you so much for all you BOYZ have contributed to my physical and mental
preparations! I will keep listening
because, I ran less, but much more purposefully in preparation for this race
than I have in the past and felt much stronger!
And lastly (and least important), my time was several minutes faster, 1:23:10!
Thanks
again!

Jason and Will,
You
guys put "fit" into my windsurfing! You guys are the most knowledgeable and
professional coaches I have encountered and you have led me on the ultimate
performance agenda. I feel much more powerful on the water and I feel certain
that your coaching will help me reach my personal goal of competing in the Olympics in Athens in 2004! I always
recommend you guys for anyone who wants to achieve their highest goals in
performance!
You guys rock!

Jason and Will,
I am writing to you about your recent article in Fitness Runner and how much it
helped me. I happened to pick up your article after a not so wonderful first
marathon. I was at my breakfast table rehashing the marathon to figure out what
went wrong when I picked up the magazine. I read the first article and I
couldn't believe that what I was reading about someone else, was what happened
to me almost exactly. You can't imagine how relieved I was to understand what
happened in my marathon. I was very down on myself and after reading the article
was able to know why my body failed during the marathon. Due to your article and
what I learned I would now do another marathon which I previously thought no
way, never again. Then when I contacted you guys, Jason responded to me
immediately. What a comfort, relief and support system Jason offered me after
what I felt was a devastating first marathon. Your article and follow-up gave me
advice, pointed out what happened and most importantly gave me support. I have
made a copy of that article for my running partner who had similar questions
about my performance, especially since he couldn't understand himself what
happened. He read the article and thought it was extremely informative and gave
him so new ideas for training as to what to do and what not to do. Thanks for
publishing such a great article. I want to run a marathon again!
Thanks!

Hey Will and Jason,
I've been meaning to write you for some time now to tell you what a difference
you guys have made for me. Your coaching has dramatically changed the way I go
about training as well as the way I recover from training and races. You guys do
an incredible job!
As a result, I have gone from middle of the pack finishes in
years past to all top ten finishes for this year! Thanks for helping me reach my
annual goals. I'm looking forward to working with you in the years to come. Be
well,
Doug Doug Chiasson

Will and Jason,
You have helped me to accomplish goals I never dreamed were possible as an
athlete!
In the last couple of years I finished the Boston Marathon and
completed my first Olympic Distance Triathlon. You have helped assure me that at
53, I am still a young athlete with many more goals to accomplish. You've helped
me to scare Rheumatoid Arthritis into remission and then helped me to finish the
Boston Marathon in style! You guys not only care about my athletic goals and
accomplishments; you also care about my health and well-being. My training plans are
made to fit my personal needs and goals. I also want to thank you again for the seminar on health, fitness, and nutrition
you guys presented at the elementary school where I work. You talked to the 5th
and 6th graders on a level they could understand and the staff, as well as the
kids, had a great time and learned a great deal!
You guys are terrific!

Jason & Will,
I have had the chance to put some of your recent advice into practice. I have to
admit, it was definitely strange at first trying to stay within the intensity guidelines
you suggested. Actually, it was a real challenge to slow myself down. But I've
actually had NO problems with my blood sugar during workouts since I started
using your suggestions. In fact, after a few workouts getting used to it, I found
that I was able to use much better form during my rows. On Monday, I tried
rowing at about 95% of my maximum heart rate (just to test things out). I only lasted
for 45 minutes and back came the muscle aches and tingling, dizziness, and
nausea. In any case, it convinced me that my workouts are much better spent in
the intensity range that you prescribed while I work this out. Thank you! I can't tell you what a huge
difference it makes to actually feel really good after exercise. I'm so used to
having to stop workouts after 20 minutes to go and get a packet of sugar from
the snack bar, or having to stop altogether. I feel much more secure going to
the gym knowing that the chances of passing out in front of everyone have been
so dramatically reduced.
Thank you again!

Jason & Will,
I thought I'd relay this little story to you because it's an indication of how
great your coaching has been for me. I'm not sure how well you know my friend Jim, but for the past
two years or so he
has always been very encouraging to me in the shop and at races as I learned to
ride my bike. At the Sudbury Spring Sprint Distance Triathlon in May of this year, his bike time was 22:27 and mine was
24:19. In my last race, the Hyannis Sprint Distance Triathlon, after about
5 miles I passed him, said
"hello", and waited for him to pass me back...and waited...and waited…it
never happened! His bike time was 37:51 and mine was 33:16! After the race, he came up to me and
said, "Boy, you have really gotten
fast! There was no way I could stay with you." Now, I know I'm no
speedster yet, but I told him that the entire reason is because of the coaching
you guys have provided me this season. You've helped me to become a much
stronger triathlete! So, my point is, its nice to be able to "put my money where
my mouth
is" so to speak and actually SHOW people that I am getting faster! Thanks
to you guys! Your coaching KICKS BUTT!
Thanks guys!
